Don't you just love it when someone gives you a gift just to say I'm thinkin' of ya? Don't get me wrong, I love gifts any old time, but gifts given from the heart on no special day, well, they just make me happy. To know that someone is thinking of you and sending you warm wishes just fills my heart with a feeling that all is alright in the world today.
I've been having a few health problems and a sweet gal whom I met last Fall at Where Women Create, her name is Virginia, sent me the sweetest little gifts to cheer me up. Isn't that just wonderful??!! We are facebook friends and we've only met once and for her to think enough about me to want to cheer me up, well that is a pretty Special person. I am touched beyond words.
Virginia is the owner of The Rusty Bird and she makes the most incredible nests and birdcages. If you know me, you know that I have a huge fondness for birds, nests, birdcages, birdhouses, the word Nest, etc. I met Virginia when I was purchasing this nest which I have nestled in an old wire lampshade that is upside down.
I also purchased this hanging wire bird cage
The little feather doo~dad is one of the gifts she sent me. I really like the way it looks in the birdcage. It reminds me of a little bird sitting on a swing.
She also gifted me this awesome little birdcage
The nest has a little egg inside with little feathers attached for wings and the wings have a little sparkle on their tips. swoon!
Here's a pic of the wall where I have the hanging birdcage. One of these days ( in my free time...hahahaha) I'm going to add textured wallpaper to the bottom part of the wall. Oh, and I'm also going to get after that lampshade. I've got big plans for it too!
I am busy as ever right now preparing for Glitterfest. This is going to be one of the busiest years yet for me as I have several shows, as well as, a solo show featuring my mosaic skulls at Bohemia in Tucson and a tour of my garden next month. This definitely was not a good year to add health problems into the mix. However, I am not going to let it get me down or slow me down too much, especially when I have people like Virginia in my world sending me cheer from afar. :-) Thank you so much Virginia!!!!!!
See ya soon!
