So sorry for the delay in posting. I've been busy with the holiday to-do list, taking care of my little granddaughter while her mom picked up a 2nd job (seasonal) for this month, and the hubby and I took a little vacation to New Orleans. :-)
We stayed at the Maison Dupuy in the French Quarter which is one of the oldest hotels. I highly recommend them if you have plans for visiting New Orleans. We were walking distance to most everything and the staff was very friendly. Here's a pic of the court yard.
We rented a car one of the days and drove 2 1/2 hours to Avery Island. The Tabasco company is located here and since we are both fans of their hot sauce, we thought it might be fun to tour their factory. It was a short tour, but very interesting! These people waste NOTHING. They have found a use for every bit of left over from the production of their sauce. I LOVE this about them.
Here's the factory
The Country Store which had about any product you could think of made with Tabasco
They also have a 250 acre jungle gardens that you can tour on Avery Island, but we were short on time so didn't do the tour, but maybe next time.
Of course the food in New Orleans is some of the best in the country and we definitely ate too much. Diet will be the only word I know come January!! Lord Have Mercy!
Are you familiar with the HBO series Treme?? I believe they were filming a scene for it just down the street from our hotel. We are big fans of the show.
After only a couple of hours of arriving in New Orleans, we walked to the Saint Louis Cathedral and enjoyed some holiday black gospel. People in New Orleans LOVE their music! They were standing, dancing and clapping and singing during some of the songs. :-) Very Enjoyable!!
Speaking of music, there is always some type of music going on somewhere! :-)
I have more to share, like the Holiday Home Tour in the Garden District!! Art!! Mosaic Art!! Water Features!! but will do so in future posts. :-)
In the meantime, Happy Happy Holidays to you!!
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoox!!!!

p.s. No worries! I'm still working on "the wall". I've been very very busy cutting really small circles of purple and lavendar. I'll share that soon too. :-)
