Hello Peeps!
I took a small break from the studio on Saturday to shop for supplies and found myself in some fun and fabulous shops. It was a much needed break, but no worries, I was back in the studio that night.......well into the late night. All of the shopping goodness of the day, gave me an extra boost to carry on until the wee hours. :-)
I actually remembered to bring my camera! (or maybe it was already in my purse?) I really have the brain fog going on right now, so who knows. Anyway, since I am unable to share the cakes I've been working on (they have not been grouted yet) I thought I'd share a little of my day.
First, there was this FABULOUS chica!!! This is Lani. Hi Lani!
Lani is working at Sirens and Saints which is an AwEsoMe clothing and jewelry shop that has just recently opened up. It is owned by Shelly who also owns Rust and Roses which is next door, another fabulous shop. Now, back to Lani. When I walked into this shop and I heard her talking, I thought to myself Where do I know this gal from? Well, if you know me, you know that I will talk to anyone standing close enough to hear me (no kidding). I said where do I know you from and she said that she was thinking the same thing herself. After talking a bit, we decided we had not met before, but I'm telling you that I feel like I've known this woman for a life time. She is wonderful!!! She has decided to start her blog back up, so please go and visit her. You'll find out more about her from there. Oh, and I bought THE CUTEST shirt from this place! (no pics of it yet) Location: 7th Ave just north of Indian School on the west side of the road.
I almost forgot. I bought an old wedding dress and some very old picture frames from Rust and Roses. Wedding dress you ask?? Well, I've got to make my costume for Blissfest.
Picture frames are for me :-)
Next, I went to Frances.
This shop is like a small independent Anthropologie. I did not take pics inside, as I heard from someone that they forbid it. I purchased a cute business card holder with Kelly Haigh art on it and a little black swan and the cutest key chains made of string for my 2 youngest daughters. I'll take pics later. Go Herefor Frances's website. Location is 10 W. Camelback Rd. Phoenix
The owner of Frances also just opened Smeeks. It's just what it says Sweets * Treat * Novelty
Very colorful inside. Eye candy, as well as, Candy Candy :-)
Next, I went to Kooky Krafts owned by longtime Phoenix artist Beatrice Moore.
Check out this EyE CaNdY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Location of Kooky Krafts is 1500 Grand Ave. Phoenix
One of my cupcakes was featured in the Home section of the Tucson newspaper. If you're interested, here's the link
Now, for the CUTEST of them ALL.....
Pucker up grandma! LOL! That's the face she makes when she wants to give you a kiss.
Absolutely ADORE her!!!!!!
Okay! This has been one long post! (I'm waiting for my sealer to dry, so I'm allowed to take this amount of time for a post, as I'm actually working at the same time....right?)
Talk to you soon!!
xoxo!
