So, I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL Christmas!!! I sure did! :-) More about that later.
Anyhoo.... I have FINALLY have the shower floor glued! Holy Moly that was a job!
Remember this?
Well, now we have this
I am so proud of myself on my installation of that glass block :-)
I even added towel rings on the opposite side, which was a little difficult, as I had to drill through the tile.
Now, the floor. The floor that I thought that I was never going to finish. If you are wondering if those are rocks, yes they are. Actually they are very smooth river rocks. I'm pretty sure there are a gazillion of them there. I'll let the adhesive dry for another day or two and then I will grout. Probably brown grout. The reason it took me so long, besides the fact that there are a gazillion rocks, is because I was trying to make sure that each rock placed was pretty close to the same thickness as the rock next to it, so that it will be comfortable on the feet. I've already tested it on the dry ones and it is very smooth and comfortable.
After grouting and sealing, I'll just need to install a curtain rod, shop for a shower curtain, buy and install a faucet handle and it should be ready for use. Hopefully, I will get these last minor things done soon! :-)
For anyone out there thinking of doing your own shower install, I say HIRE someone! This was back breaking work. However, I am PROUD of my accomplishment and I know that I saved thousands of dollars.
Here's wishing everyone a VERY, VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hugs!
Michelle
p.s. If you want, I'll share the final finished pictures when done. :-)
