I know, I know....long time no see. So sorry, I have been one busy girl! :-) I'm a little past due in letting you all know what's happening in my little spot in the world. So, here we go...
First, I will be participating in Blissfest on October 18th (see flyer below). This is a fund raiser for the Nielson's. I'm sure many of you have read about them on other blogs. They were seriously burned in an airplane crash and have a long road to recovery. They are also the parents of 4 young children. Being the mother of 4 children myself, my heart went out to them and when asked to help, I couldn't refuse. I will have lots of mosaic cupcakes for sale at this event.
The next event that I am participating in is Vanessa'sHalloween Blog Party. This is also on October 18th, so I hope to have my pictures posted the night before. Heck, I hope to have my ideas put into form by the deadline! LOL!!! :-) Vanessa always throws the best blog parties!!! I so enjoyed myself at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party!!!!
Next, I've joined a group of artists at a new gallery in downtown Phoenix called Kollectiv. The gallery participates in First Fridays and I'm able to display some of my bigger pieces there. Last Friday was crazy! Lots and lots of people. If you are a local and have not attended a First Friday yet, go and check it out. The city comes alive with art every where. I think it would take an entire year to see every gallery andart venue there. Here's a pic of the front of the gallery. Please come and experience the next First Friday on November 7th and stop by and say hi :-) I'd love to see you!!!!!!
Daughters 3 & 4 LOVE First Fridays and came with me last Friday. They found the Obama camp and were recruited :-) We cannot talk politics in our house as we girls are for Obama and the hubby is for McCain. Conversations can quite heated!
This is random, but I took this picture of the sun setting as I was driving out of my neighborhood. I thought it was so Beautiful, but the camera did not pick up the colors very well. The light was Bright Orange, so think of that when you look at the picture.
I finally got a new picture of my grand baby. She's grown so much, I hardly recognized her! I'm hoping to bring them out around Thanksgiving. Look at those cheeks!!!!!! :-)
I've had so many deadlines this month. Some of them I've met and a couple of them I just couldn't finish in time. One of the missed deadlines was a mosaic project that was to be submitted for jury selection last Friday to the Society of Mosaic Artists. I worked so hard, but just couldn't finish in time. Bummer! Anyway, the project is almost completed and I can't wait to share it with you. I've wanted to explore sculptures a bit more and that is what it is. I'll share it with you in my next post.
Okay, gotta run. I have more deadlines to meet and shows to prepare for. I promise that I'll come and pay you all a visit real soon. I can't wait to see what you're all up to! :-)
Hugs!!!!!!!!!
