You probably all know by now that I am a garden nut! :-) So, I'm cruising through the newspaper last week and I see that there is going to be a garden tour at 7 different homes on Saturday. Yippee!!! I asked the hubby if he wanted to go with me and surprisingly, he said yes. Well, I was not one bit disappointed in this little adventure!! WOWSA!!!! I was so impressed and inspired!! I'm even joining their garden club! I took a bunch of pictures, so I'll spread it out over a few posts. The pictures I'm sharing today are of Pet's garden. She is a little oriental woman who has a magnificent garden and she only lives about 2 miles from me. I can't wait to make friends with her at the garden club. Her garden inspired me the most.
This first picture is of the front of her house leading up to the front door. Look at all of that color!!!! That purple tree is an orchid tree. I need one of those!
This next picture is to the right of her driveway and it leads to the gate into the back yard.
I'm kinda jumping around now, but this is a dead tree in her back yard. Look at the creative way she took something uninteresting and made it a show piece by adding the laterns!
This gazebo is tucked way back in the yard. What a wonderful place to have a meal. Did I mention that her back yard is HUGE!!
Here is one side of a wonderful pond.
The hubby is standing on a little bridge that goes over the pond.
Here is the other side of the pond.
Oh, and did I mention that she also has streams that lead to the pond??!! OMG!!!!
Now we're getting closer to the back of the house. Here's the jacuzzi and swimming pool and that little house in the back is.......YEP, a pool house with a TV, pool table and bar. Ummmmm, WOW again!
Here's a picture from the other side of the pool. Check out the slide. That rock feature on the pool is a fountain, by the way. Oh, and notice to the far left, the outdoor fireplace.
I wished I would have taken more pictures, but this was the first house on the tour and I was so overcome with excitement that I forgot to take pictures of everything. There was a little trail throughout the entire backyard that led you to different seating areas, resting spots for napping, lots of floral visuals and so on and so on. When I make friends with her, I go back with my camera and take more pictures.
So, in the first paragraph above, I stated that I need an Orchid tree. Well, I went out and bought one yesterday. That's it below.
So, now I must leave you, as I need to go dig a BIG HONKIN' hole!!!! I should have started earlier, as it's a bit hot out right now. Wish me LUCK!! :-)
Hugs!
