So, I mentioned in an earlier post that I did a little traveling last weekend. Well, my travels took me 92 miles south to Tucson. Can you believe that I have lived in the Phoenix area for about 14 years and I have never been to Tucson?? I know....unbelievable! I had heard that they were a little more artsy than we are here in Phoenix, so I needed to check it out. However, I wasn't sure where to go, so I called on my blog friend Vanessa from A Fanciful Twist. She is such a sweetie and she gave me a list of some awesome places to visit where I bought a couple of really cool things. Of course, as usual, I forgot to take my camera, so I can't share any pics with you of Tucson itself, but never fear, I'm going back and I won't forget my camera. Here are some pics of the cool stuff I bought:
Check this out!! A very fancy birdcage! You've probably heard me say it before that I love birds and nests and birdcages AND this I LOVE!!!! It was purchased at a boutique called BON. BON is Vanessa's favorite store on the planet....I quote :-)
Also at BON, I got this really fancy card that I'm going to use as decoration. I've never seen anything like it before. I love all of the butterflies on it. I believe you can also add butterflies to my above list of things that I love! :-)
This is more than just any card. It has a little rhinestone pin that you can remove if you want. Isn't it just FABULOUS??!!!!
One of the other places that I fell in love with was an Art Co-op called Bohemia. They had just moved into a new building and it was very colorful and fun. Lots and lots of local art....Love That! I met the owner Tana who is very sweet and we chatted about what a sweetie Miss Vanessa is.
I purchased this wonderful piece for my garden, but I didn't get the artist's name. I'm going to call and find out because I think my garden needs more of his work. Very Talented!!!!
Yep, a great time was had in Tucson. Next time, I hope to meet up with Miss V. It didn't work out this time as she has been dealing with a HUGE plumbing fiasco and I had the hubby with me.
So, I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! The hubby left me chocolates on the kitchen table in the early A.M. (he leaves very early for work!) and I was happily munching on them while drinking my coffee. :-) This girl LOVES her chocolate!!! We didn't go out to dinner last night, as we usually go out on Fridays so I made sure that I worked out extra hard last night at the gym to burn off some of those thousands of calories I consumed! I may have over-done it though, as I could barely get out of bed this morning!
I told the hubby not to buy me roses for this Valentine's Day because I'm always sad when they die and they cost sooooo much money this time of year which makes it even sadder when they die! I said I would really prefer these:
Yep, rose bushes! :-) Now I can plant them and enjoy them for a very long time!!! Those of you that know me, know that I love my gardening!!! Yippeeeeeeeeeee!!!!! So Happy, So Happy!
Because I was talking about my love of birdcages earlier, I thought I'd share this picture with you that I took in Paris, France last summer. We saw this store front from the bus and had to get off to check it out.
Can you see what is in the cages?? Ballet flats!!! This was a boutique that sold only ballet flats!!!! Very popular store!!! They even had a young man standing at the door to open it for you when you entered and exited. Wow!! I could care less about the shoes. I just LOVED the display!!!! Those French sure have style!!!
Well, I'd better get to work. I'm working on a fabulous bird house for a very special blog friend. Very exciting! :-)
Oh, and I've added a couple of items to my Etsy . Here's a pic of the items. I hope to get more done soon! :) Thank you so much for all of the Etsy Love!!!!!
Until next time.......Peace! :-) Michelle
