Hello Girlfriends (and guys, if there are any?)!
I have to tell you that I had the BEST massage of my life yesterday!!! I felt sooooo good when I walked out of there that I almost starting skipping to my car! (lol...now that would've been a sight!) Anyhoo, this was the 3rd massage in 3 weeks that I've had (can you say Expensive!). Now, before you start saying wow, must be nice, let me explain myself. Due to my physically labor intensive job, my right shoulder and my neck and my back have suffered greatly. Last week and the week before, I was in so much pain, I just wanted to start crying. I was taking so much Ibuprofen that it was making me sick AND I know, I know, it's not good for you to take too much of it. But, Hello, remember I said crying? Anyway, the first massage I got did not help and I was not familiar with the gal. While complaining to my hairdresser about my pain, she asked me why I wasn't going to Becky who used to do my massages years ago. Well, Becky had moved and I didn't know where she was. Vanessa (hairdresser) fixed that and I made an appointment. Well, let me just tell you, Becky fixed me!! (Yay!!!) But not before telling me that I was.......Toxic???!!!! What??? I showered!
I LOVE this drawing of myself......look how skinny my waist is!! (LOL!!!) Okay, back to the story. Becky said that I'm carrying stress in my body and it's basically making a home in the right side of my back! How dare it! She says that I need to find a Yoga class. I guess they're good at teaching you how to breathe and meditate and relax. I thought I knew how to breathe (or wouldn't I be dead?) but come to find out, most people only breathe with the upper part of their chest instead of breathing deep into their waist area (see above-hehe) and filling up the lungs which helps to put oxygen into the body which helps to rid the body of toxins. I also need to drink more water to flush my system and I'll be getting a massage at least once a month in order to keep my muscles in check. I think I'll be happier if I follow her instructions and I'm sure my family will, as I am one grouchy be-otch when my back hurts like that!
On to other chit-chat.....The hubby and I spent last Sunday cleaning up daughter #3's room. You might remember from an earlier post that I said she was moving out. Well that happened at the end of December and even though she said she cleaned her room......well, let's just say NOT! I think the hubby counted 24 empty water bottles that we put into the recycle and the magazines filled the entire back of my car!! However, I can't complain about this one, because she gets the magazine addiction from her mother! The guy at Goodwill gave us an estimate of $500 on the bags of clothes, shoes and puses we brought in.
While visiting her at Ikea (she works there) shortly after she moved out, we spied the sale of the day and we couldn't pass it up! Daybed frames for $30???? We bought two and the mattresses to go with them and we finally got them set up this last weekend. Here's the room now.
No sheets or comforters yet. I want to paint first. The last time I painted this room was about 7 years ago. She liked pink and yellow and cherries. Can you tell?? There was also black and white toile everywhere and I painted the dresser black and then painted the inset with roses. It was beautiful, but it's time for a change.
This chair has also seen better days.
I really like the look of these beds!
I'm thinking of doing the room in a shabby chic blue color scheme. However, first I need to finish up some of the other projects I have going.....some of which I haven't even told you about! They'll all get done....they always do, but it would probably be easier if I started one and finished it before I started the next one! I call it OCD!! :-)
Remember that big mosaic project that I told you I had almost finished??? Well, talk about giving a girl stress! I am edging the piece in a dark brown vitreous glass that I left over from another project and I thought I had enough for this project but NOPE, I didn't, and do you think I could find it anywhere??? Nope Again!! I don't have the time to wait for it to be shipped so I did find these mixed packages at Michaels which gives me about 20 pieces per package.
So, I bought all of them in two Michael's stores. More Expensive?? Yes! So, the next time I post, I'll share my mosaic project with you. I promise, it's worth the wait!
Lastly, you know how we know it's winter in Arizona??
When the lemon trees are filled with ripe fruit! I still have lemon ice cubes left over from last year. I'd love it if anyone has any lemon recipies that they'd like to share.
Until next time! Peace out! Michelle
