As much as I love the many purple flowers the Ruellia puts out....
it is this time of year, when we've had a couple of good rain storms (well for Arizona anyway), I find myself cussing at this plant.
It spreads like CRAZY!!
What you see above is from 1 ONE UNO plant. It swallows everything else up and if I'm not careful, it will crowd out the other plants to their death.
I walked around the corner of the house today and saw this hell of a mess and thought oh boy, you are going to need some serious energy and soon. You've got work to do girl!
It drives my husband nuts when it gets like this. He's not much of a gardener or garden lover. He would prefer cement (BLASPHEMY!!) He'll say to me: Are you growing a garden or a jungle out there??!!!
Pfffft, whatever
So, tomorrow.....yeah, probably tomorrow, I'll get out there and start to tackle that mess. It may take a couple of days I'm thinking. No worries though, I'll get er done.
Another unruly mess....
My Passion Fruit Vine. I bought it last Spring and it was only an 8 inch sorry looking little stick. Look at her now! WILD!! I was initially worried about planting it in this spot (west side of house), as this area gets a lot of sun and HEAT, but I needed a vine in this area sooooo.
I guess I made the right decision, as it seems to be prospering. It is, however, out of control. The vines are wrapped around everything in the area. I need to get it tied up to the trellis and trained. Yep, tomorrow or the next day.
