Here's the last pics of the garden tour. In my next post, I hope to share my newest mosaic cake with you. It's been taking me a little longer than usual to make, as I've been spending a lot of time kissing my little grandbaby! :-) They leave tomorrow, so I have to kiss her as much as I can!
Here's me with my Poppies gone wild. A little fertilizer in the early part of the year sure made a huge difference in the number of blooms I'm getting this year. Love them!! I really liked my yard before the garden tour, but after visiting such wonderful gardens, I felt that my garden just wasn't up to par. Hence the earlier mentioned Orchid tree......................and 3 more rose bushes...........and just a few more ice plants. There is also an arbor that I'm eyeballing. I know, I'm out of control. Speaking of the Orchid tree, it is now planted........AFTER 1 1/2 DAYS OF DIGGING!!! That was one huge hole I had to dig and it was in clay dirt! Ugh. It was 4' x 4' x 3' when I was finished. I guess if the whole mosaic business doesn't work out, I could always get a job digging holes (LOL!!)
Well, that's all for now my friends. I'll be back in a few days to show you a very low calorie, okay 0 calorie cake.
Hi Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your tour through these magnificent gardens! This next garden that I'm sharing with you is going to blow you away. Not so much because of the garden, but because of the entire estate. Take a look for yourself......
This is the driveway leading up to the place.
This is the circular driveway in front of the house. Those are rose bushes surrounding it. I know....AMAZING, right??!
The front of the house. Ummmmmmmm, WOWSA!!!!!
This is another section of the house. It's to the right of the main part.
This is the tunnel separating the two sections of the house.
This is the back of the house and to the left once you walk through the tunnel.
This is the other side of the back of the house once you enter through the tunnel.
Yep, I know. BREATHTAKING!!!! This is the back yard!
I'm not sure what to call this structure. I know it has a name, but I'm going to refer to it as the pool house. This picture was taken from the pool house towards the house.
Very cool furniture for the pool house. There is a very large fireplace in this pool house too, but I didn't get a picture of it.
This arbor leads you to the side yard where you will find......
Then from the side yard, you can enter into the front yard, where there is a little circular court yard with these tiled benches.
Luis is the owner of this house and he was very gracious. He shared some clippings of plants with the hubby and I and even cut some fruit from one of his cactus for us to taste. His home was featured in the Phoenix Homes and Gardens magazine in January. Now, if I could only take a tour of the inside :-)
You probably all know by now that I am a garden nut! :-) So, I'm cruising through the newspaper last week and I see that there is going to be a garden tour at 7 different homes on Saturday. Yippee!!! I asked the hubby if he wanted to go with me and surprisingly, he said yes. Well, I was not one bit disappointed in this little adventure!! WOWSA!!!! I was so impressed and inspired!! I'm even joining their garden club! I took a bunch of pictures, so I'll spread it out over a few posts. The pictures I'm sharing today are of Pet's garden. She is a little oriental woman who has a magnificent garden and she only lives about 2 miles from me. I can't wait to make friends with her at the garden club. Her garden inspired me the most.
This first picture is of the front of her house leading up to the front door. Look at all of that color!!!! That purple tree is an orchid tree. I need one of those!
This next picture is to the right of her driveway and it leads to the gate into the back yard.
I'm kinda jumping around now, but this is a dead tree in her back yard. Look at the creative way she took something uninteresting and made it a show piece by adding the laterns!
This gazebo is tucked way back in the yard. What a wonderful place to have a meal. Did I mention that her back yard is HUGE!!
Here is one side of a wonderful pond.
The hubby is standing on a little bridge that goes over the pond.
Here is the other side of the pond.
Oh, and did I mention that she also has streams that lead to the pond??!! OMG!!!!
Now we're getting closer to the back of the house. Here's the jacuzzi and swimming pool and that little house in the back is.......YEP, a pool house with a TV, pool table and bar. Ummmmm, WOW again!
Here's a picture from the other side of the pool. Check out the slide. That rock feature on the pool is a fountain, by the way. Oh, and notice to the far left, the outdoor fireplace.
I wished I would have taken more pictures, but this was the first house on the tour and I was so overcome with excitement that I forgot to take pictures of everything. There was a little trail throughout the entire backyard that led you to different seating areas, resting spots for napping, lots of floral visuals and so on and so on. When I make friends with her, I go back with my camera and take more pictures.
So, in the first paragraph above, I stated that I need an Orchid tree. Well, I went out and bought one yesterday. That's it below.
So, now I must leave you, as I need to go dig a BIG HONKIN' hole!!!! I should have started earlier, as it's a bit hot out right now. Wish me LUCK!! :-)
Oh my goodness!! I have been a total slacker at getting my blog updated this week. I have a really good excuse though........
Look who came to visit me.....
Yep, my precious little grandbaby. She brought her mom too! (lol) They came to visit a little earlier than I had expected, but I'm glad they did. I have to confess that I haven't been getting much work done since they arrived, but I'll catch up soon enough.
Daughter #3 is also glad that they came to visit, as this is her first time meeting with her new little niece.
I think she likes her!
Okay, now for a little catch up of everything else.
She took pictures of little Bailey and made a magnet, a door hanger and a necklace (below). She also made the adorable necklace above. The oo~la~la item was definitely the necklace with Bailey on it. Check it out:
She used a different picture on both sides. She pulled the pictures from my blog!! AMAZING!!
When daughter #2 saw this necklace, she was soooooo Excited!!! I let her have it and she put it on right away. Thank you sooooooooo much Britt!!! You made a lot of people happy with your wonderful creations!!!! You Rock Girlie!!
I received another package in the mail the same day from sister girl Pam from Little Town Big Life. Pam sent me all kinds of stuff!!! Oklahoma seasonings, Oklahoma post cards, a grandma brag book, and little slippers for little Bailey! My daughter was so excited! She just couldn't believe that blog friends were sending presents for her little baby girl! Thank you so much Pam. Here's a pic of what she sent:
Okay, next is a special order cupcake I made for Miss Carol Eldridge at From the Nest. Carol is a wonderful artist and she is having a birthday this month. So, she ordered herself a special birthday cupcake. I made her a little something extra to go along with her cupcake order. Happy ~ Happy Birthday Miss Carol!!!!!!!!!!!!
And her little surprise...
Lastly, I've added a couple of new cupcakes to my Etsy. Here they are....
Well, that's about it for now.....oh, except, did you notice that I added some new tunes for your listening enjoyment?? :-) Love Song is my favorite new song!!! I even have it on my ring tone on my cell phone. Turn it up!! Sing along!!! Dance around!! (that's what I'm doing!)
