She's Late....She's Late......

Better late than never, I always say.

The Queen of Hearts has finally shown up for the carnival. She apologizes for the delay, but she had to

pick up a couple of extra passengers along the way.

 100_1881

100_1882

It's a good thing the Queen has a nice big tricycle with a basket, as that is where Cheshire Cat hung out for the long trip.

100_1884

The caterpillar hitched his wagon to the Queen's trike and smoked his hookah while he enjoyed the ride.

100_1885

100_1886

All of that pedaling the Queen had to do, but she looks happy to have finally made it to the carnival!

100_1888

They had better enjoy this carnival while they can, as it is supposed to be a toasty 116 degrees this weekend!!!  (ugh!)

Mad Hatter Tea Party?????

Mad Hatter Tea Party????  Well, not exactly........

You see, there was word in Wonderland, that a small carnival was in town. Well, a carnival sounded very appealing to Alice and the gang, so they decided to skip the tea and head to the FUN!

100_1788

Check out this Toad Twirl About.

100_1789

Mr. Toad is in charge of this ride.

100_1791

Hold on People!

100_1821

Don't spin them too fast Mr. Toad!

100_1792

Alice is having a GRAND time!

100_1793

The March Hare is not sure he likes it.

100_1795

The Mad Hatter is not impressed.

100_1798

Watch out for the bee's on this ride. They are attracted to the flower.

100_1799

Time is spinning out of control on the Tea Cup Tilt~a-Twirl.

100_1783

Tweedledee and his brother Tweedledum are enjoying the carnival ride, however, they refuse to sit down!

100_1784

I'm not so sure the Dormouse was ready for this ride. He'd rather take a nap. Watch your tail Mr. Mouse!

100_1829

Hold on you three!!!

100_1828

Petunia Snail is enjoying all of the excitement.

100_1820

I hope you've enjoyed this little carnival!!! Come back in a couple of days and see who else shows up for the fun!

Oooooh, and I almost forgot! Leave a comment and you may be the winner of a Charlotte Mosaic Cupcake! I'll draw a name on Wednesday, July 1 :-)

I TRY to work on it daily and it is a slow process, but it is coming along. It is going to be tough working on it these next few months since our temps will be hovering in the 115 degree area. However, if you've followed my blog for long, you know that I won't let a little heat stop me. :-)

Some Mad Hatter Fun

Last year around this time, I participated in Miss Vanessa's Mad Hatter Tea Party Adventure and let me tell you, it was loads of FUN! So much fun, that I decided to participate again this year. It's nice to take a break from the mosaics every now and again, although I did have a bit of mosaic in last year's creations.

Check out the banner below and mark your calenders for some fun.

Back from Louisiana

A good time was had in the bayous of Louisiana. Our friends Stephanie and Darryl, were absolutely the most wonderful hosts. Thank You you two!!!  Also loved hanging out with Regina and Phil, of course. :)

Here's me and the hubby at the boat landing. We're a bit excited about getting to Stephanie and Darryl's camp.

100_1744

Here's a view off the deck of a restaurant that we ate at. I believe the restaurant was called Charlie's, but not sure.

100_1741

At this restaurant, they will give you a bucket of crumbs (old biscuits) so that you can feed the fish. Well, we didn't see any fish, but there were hundreds of turtles and a few ducks that were more than willing to take those crumbs off our hands.

100_1740

Now, is this a picture of a happy boy or what. Darryl boiled some craw-fish for us on our first day at the camp. Yum!!!!

100_1751

The next day, the hubby and I went out with Darryl on his boat to pull up the crab baskets.

100_1761

Check out these babies! Watch your fingers! They are vicious!

100_1749

We were lucky enough to see a few gators while at the camp. I can't believe these people swim in this river. Scary! (they've even found sharks in these waters!)

100_1748

The hubby is most happiest when he is fishing and boy did he fish......and fish....and fish! He caught this Gar fish while night fishing.

100_1753

Even the fish here resemble gators! These Gar fish can get up to 8 feet long! Can you imagine swimming along side one of these???!!!

100_1756

The sun setting over lake Pontchartrain. It truly is a BEAUTIFUL place!!!!

Creative Abundance (part 1)

Well, I think I have finally recovered from my busy weekend. What a WoNdErFul weekend it was!!!! Exhausting, but wonderful. Kim Caldwell really knows how to put on a show. If you have yet to attend one of her creative events, I highly recommend it. Not only will you be creating fabulous art all day long, but you will be making new friends and maybe seeing old. There is fabulous food to dine on and yummy snacks full of sugar to keep your creative juices flowing. That's just a snippet of the goodness that goes on. Every thing about Kim's events is good for the soul :-) Thank You for a wonderful time Kim!

Here's a pic to give you an idea of how it looks. Look at all of those girls having FUN!

The lovely Miss Valerie is now the owner of The Queen Cake :-) Thank You Sweetie!!!

100_1731

I have to show you one of my newest cupcakes. It was one of the first items snatched up. Isn't she cute?! :-) More of these coming soon.

Some of the girls participated in a birdhouse swap. Sooo Pretty

000_0006

I will tell you that I was a bit worried about teaching my class at this event. I was doubting that I could teach 40 women how to do mosaic and complete a project all in 3 hours. Boy did they prove me wrong. Not only did they finish, but their projects blew me away! Their personalities really showed up in their projects. All different and wonderful. They INSPIRED me!!!!! You ladies ROCK!!!

Here are some of the boxes completed and I will show more in the next post.

Busy as a Bee

Hello strangers! I have been so absent from blog land lately, due to my "busy as a bee" schedule, and I must admit that I am really feeling it. I am looking forward to a little down time in the next couple of weeks, so that I can just spend hours lurking blogs and catching up on what is going on in your lives.

Last time I blogged, I told you that my M-I-L was coming into town. Well, that went pretty well actually. She even helped me paint the boxes I've been making for the class I'm teaching in L.A. this weekend. I will admit that I am thankful :-)

Speaking of those boxes. Here's a picture of them and their lids. I had to make 40+! The hubby helped me. Again, I am thankful :-)

Box

Whew! That was a JOB! I have no desire to make anymore boxes in the near future Or cut molding!

These last few days since finishing the boxes have been spent creating more inventory to haul to L.A. to sell. You can only make so many mosaics in 3 days, so my table in L.A. will be a bit sparse, but there will be Good stuff! :-)

This whole month of May has been spent working really long hours, which means no time for cleaning the studio. I thought I'd share a little bit of my creative disaster area with you. I warn you, it is bad.

000_0003

000_0004

000_0005

That's just a smidgen of the madness going on in there. Be glad I didn't show you the floor! LOL! My hubby comes in and just shakes his head. Being a Type A personality, he just doesn't get it. (sigh) You should have seen my M-I-L's face when she walked in there. (giggle) She's Type A too.

Well, that's all for now. It's off to L.A. this weekend and then on to Louisiana the next week. I'll check in between those two trips.

Happy Day to ya!!

Hugs!

Michelle

p.s. I am having some serious difficulties with my Typepad. I cannot leave a comment on non-typepad blogs unless I use my Yahoo sign-in, which I then have to link to my Typepad. Anyone experiencing problems with this?? They said they are researching the problem, but it's taking a long time.

I've been cleaning like a maniac and also trying to get ready for my class that I will be teaching at Artistic Affaire in L.A. on the 30th. Can you say burning the candle at both ends??? I'm going to need a vacation soon! Wish me luck today
